On the occasion of his marriage, The Queen conferred a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales.

The Duke received the titles of Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus. Prior to his marriage, an heraldic identity, a Coat of Arms was given to The Duke on his 18th birthday by his grandmother, The Queen.

The design is derived from his father's Coat of Arms with elements from the Coat of Arms used by his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Duke also has a Royal Standard, which is based on his Coat of Arms, which is flown on official occasions where appropriate.
