The Prince of Wales visits Savile Row tailor Anderson & Sheppard

4th January 2013

The Prince of Wales visited his Savile Row tailor before Christmas to meet the company's young apprentices, who are learning the art of tailoring.

The Prince has been using the services of Anderson & Sheppard for more than 20 years, and asked the company to make suits for his visit to Australia and New Zealand last year.

His Royal Highness, who founded the Campaign for Wool to help struggling sheep farmers, asked the tailor to source wool from both countries to make his suits.

The Prince's suits, and their provenance, were very well received during the tour.  In this video managing director of Anderson & Sheppard John Hitchcock, talks about the efforts of those involved in making them.

The Prince thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Anderson & Sheppard, which combined a number of his own passions and interests, such as training young people in traditional crafts, helping sheep farmers in the Commonwealth and showing support for British business.
