The Prince of Wales will launch the new Royal Parks charity in Hyde Park on Thursday 13th July. The new organisation has been created following the merger of the Royal Parks Agency and the Royal Parks Foundation.

On arrival in Hyde Park, HRH will tour the under construction Hyde Park ‘super’ nursery where he will meet horticultural apprentices and ground staff at work. HRH will also meet members of the construction team, before viewing the bi-folding Wimbledon-style roof of the football pitch-sized building which allows the plants to remain in situ during unpredictable weather.

HRH will then view one of the wildflower meadow areas within Hyde Park, where he will meet a group of local school children (St James and St John Church of England Primary School, Paddington) engaged in insect meadow sweeping.  HRH will also be shown the Royal Park's Mission: Invertebrate story telling education 'snail ' (which is shaped like a snail), and meet members of its education team along with some children using the facility.

HRH will then be driven in a carriage pulled by two of the park's working shire horses to the Ranger's Lodge where he will join a reception with staff and volunteers.

During the reception Loyd Grossman, Chairman of the Royal Parks Board, will say a few words before HRH unveils a plaque to mark the occasion.
