The Duchess of Cambridge has visited several countries since her marriage to The Duke of Cambridge.
In 2011, Their Royal Highnesses visited Canada together shortly after their wedding on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen. They received a wonderful welcome and enjoyed Canada Day celebrations with the Canadian people.
In 2012 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Singapore, Malaysia, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu from 11th-19th September in celebration of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Their Royal Highnesses visited Singapore and Malaysia on behalf of the British Government as guests of the two hosts countries; while in Solomon Islands and Tuvalu, Their Royal Highnesses visited on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, who is Sovereign of these two Commonwealth nations.
The destinations were chosen by The Queen for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which underlines the importance that Her Majesty attaches to these significant nations in South East Asia, and their relationship to the United Kingdom, and to two of Her Majesty’s Realms in the South Pacific.
The visits formed one of a number undertaken by Members of the Royal Family to Her Majesty’s Realms and to Commonwealth nations during the course of the Jubilee year.
